Your information, clearly explained

Privacy Policy

Rhythmark is designed to work locally first. This policy explains what the app handles, when information leaves your device, and the controls available to you.

Effective: August 29, 2026Provider: Wchao.Jim

1. Summary

Rhythmark does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs. You do not create a Rhythmark developer account. Core app data is stored on your device unless you choose to enable iCloud sync or export information.

This policy applies to the Rhythmark iOS app, its widget, and the official pages hosted for Rhythmark. Apple and GitHub operate under their own privacy policies when they provide platform or hosting services.

2. Information the app handles

Depending on how you use the app, Rhythmark may process:

  • Plans and projects: names, icons, schedules, frequencies, targets, units, and version history.
  • Daily activity: completion, skipped status, numeric values, dates, and progress.
  • Reflections: answers, notes you enter, period and status information, and related timestamps.
  • App decisions and settings: advice choices, reminder settings, sync preferences, and local configuration.
  • Technical sync fields: record identifiers, schema versions, logical keys, timestamps, and content hashes used to keep your copies consistent.

Please avoid entering information you do not want stored on your device or, when sync is enabled, in iCloud.

3. Local storage and the widget

Core data is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. A limited snapshot used by the Rhythmark widget may be shared with the widget through an Apple App Group. That snapshot can include project names, icon symbols, status, progress, targets, and units; it is used only to render the widget.

Rhythmark does not upload this local data to a developer-operated analytics or account server.

4. Optional iCloud sync

iCloud sync is optional. If you enable it, supported Rhythmark records—including projects, daily entries, numeric values, reflections and notes, and related sync metadata—are stored in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple iCloud account. Apple operates CloudKit and processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Turning off sync does not delete the existing cloud copy. To remove Rhythmark’s cloud copy, use My → iCloud Sync → Delete Cloud Copy. This removes the Rhythmark records stored by the app in its private CloudKit zone; your local device data remains available.

Sync availability depends on your iCloud account, Apple services, connectivity, and device settings. Rhythmark does not ask for your Apple Account password.

5. Purchases, reminders, and Apple services

  • Purchases: Monthly, yearly, and lifetime Pro purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Rhythmark processes product identifiers and transaction or entitlement status to unlock features. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide transaction, subscription, and aggregated sales information through its developer services.
  • Reminders: reminders are scheduled locally using Apple notification services. Rhythmark does not operate a push-notification server.
  • TestFlight: if you install a beta, Apple processes beta distribution, diagnostics, and feedback according to Apple’s TestFlight terms and privacy practices.

6. Exports and support

When you generate a PDF or CSV, Rhythmark creates a temporary export on your device and presents Apple’s share sheet. You choose the destination and the recipient. If you choose to include reflections, the export may contain personal notes. Files sent to another app, person, or service are governed by that destination’s privacy practices.

If you email support, the developer receives the address, message, attachments, and any diagnostic details you voluntarily provide. Do not send passwords, full payment details, or private notes unless they are necessary to resolve your request.

7. Retention and deletion

  • On-device data remains until you remove records in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app, subject to device backups you control.
  • iCloud data remains until you use Delete Cloud Copy or Apple removes it under its account and retention processes. Disabling sync alone does not delete it.
  • Temporary exports may be removed by the app or operating system after sharing; copies you save or send remain under your control and the destination’s rules.
  • Support correspondence is kept only as reasonably needed to respond, prevent abuse, maintain necessary records, or meet legal obligations.

8. Your choices and rights

You can use Rhythmark without iCloud sync, change notification permission in iOS Settings, export your information, delete the cloud copy from the app, and manage purchases or subscriptions through your Apple Account. Because Rhythmark has no developer account system, there is no separate Rhythmark account to close.

Depending on your location, privacy law may provide additional rights. Contact the developer with a specific request. For information held by Apple or GitHub, contact those providers directly.

9. Children, security, international processing, and changes

Rhythmark is a general productivity app and is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their location. The app does not knowingly operate behavioral advertising or tracking for children.

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no device, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Apple and GitHub may process information in countries where they operate, subject to their own safeguards and legal obligations.

This policy may be updated when the app or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, by an in-app or release notice.
