Security & Risk Notice
LeaseLume separates sensitive inspection content stored on your device from the minimal remote records used to verify Property Pack access. This page describes the safeguards, limitations, and steps you can take to protect your records.
1. How LeaseLume limits exposure
- Property details, contacts, inspection notes, evidence photos, meter and cost entries, and PDFs remain on your device.
- The Property Pack service does not receive those inspection contents.
- The remote ledger uses opaque or derived identifiers for account, rental cycle, transaction, and entitlement records.
- Network requests to the entitlement service use HTTPS.
- Backend access is restricted, and the entitlement tables are not directly available to anonymous or ordinary authenticated database roles.
- Purchase and App Store notification data are verified before entitlement state is changed.
2. Risks that remain
No absolute security guarantee. Reasonable safeguards reduce risk but cannot eliminate device loss, software defects, service outages, malicious access, or failures outside LeaseLume's control.
- Device access: a person who can unlock your device may be able to view local records and reports.
- Data loss: deleting records, uninstalling the app, device failure, or an unusable backup may make local content unavailable.
- Sharing risk: exported or emailed PDFs may contain personal, property, or evidentiary information. Copies are controlled by the recipient, mail provider, cloud storage, or other destination you choose.
- Third-party availability: Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, Supabase, Render, Mail, and network access may be temporarily unavailable.
- Account mismatch: purchase restoration depends on verified Apple transaction information and the matching rental-cycle entitlement.
- Human accuracy: LeaseLume preserves user-entered facts but cannot confirm that notes, photos, dates, costs, or recipient addresses are correct.
3. Steps you should take
- Use a strong device passcode and enable Face ID or Touch ID.
- Keep iOS and LeaseLume updated.
- Review every frozen record and PDF before relying on or sharing it.
- Export important reports and maintain a backup appropriate for your needs.
- Confirm the recipient before sending a report and use a trusted delivery method.
- Avoid recording information that is unnecessary for the inspection.
- Contact us if you suspect unauthorized entitlement activity or a security issue.
4. Reporting a security concern
Email wchao.jim@gmail.com with “LeaseLume Security Concern” in the subject. Do not include passwords, full payment details, private keys, or unnecessary copies of sensitive inspection evidence. We may ask for limited diagnostic information needed to investigate.
5. Scope of this notice
This notice explains product safeguards and practical risks. It is not a warranty, legal opinion, or guarantee that a report will establish fault, liability, damages, repair cost, deposit outcome, or any other legal conclusion.
